Role Summary
The TGT Sanskrit Teacher will handle classes from VI to X, designing age-appropriate lesson plans that align with CBSE guidelines. Lesson plans must include grammar drills, shlokas, and conversational Sanskrit for daily use. Conduct regular assessments to track progress and identify areas needing reinforcement. Collaborate with the language department to integrate Sanskrit with cultural and moral education themes.
What You Will Do
1. Teach Sanskrit as a second or third language for Grades VI to X, maintaining a balance between literature, grammar, and spoken Sanskrit.
2. Prepare weekly and monthly plans that cover NCERT textbooks and supplementary materials such as Amar Chitra Katha Sanskrit editions.
3. Organize morning prayers and assembly participation where Sanskrit verses are recited by students.
4. Conduct monthly Sanskrit recitation competitions and storytelling sessions to build interest and confidence.
5. Prepare students for CBSE Sanskrit examinations with focused revision and practice tests.
6. Maintain discipline and punctuality in class while encouraging active student participation.
7. Coordinate with the cultural activities team to include Sanskrit in festive events like Saraswati Puja and Janmashtami.
Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Sanskrit from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks. B.Ed or D.El.Ed in Sanskrit from a NCTE-recognized institution. Prior teaching experience of at least 3 years in a CBSE-affiliated school is required. Familiarity with TLM (Teaching Learning Material) creation for Sanskrit will be an added advantage.
