About Gousia Islamic Educational Institute | Batwina

In the hills of Wakoora, Ganderbal, families often look for a school that can bridge the gap between the traditions of the valley and the demands of a rapidly changing world. Children here grow up surrounded by a rich cultural heritage, yet they also need the tools to compete in a national framework that values science, technology and English proficiency. Parents in the 191131 area are keen to find a place where their children can receive a solid academic grounding without losing the moral and spiritual anchors that define their community.

Gousia Islamic Educational Institute, Batwina, was founded in 1989 with exactly that balance in mind. Set in the quiet village of Astanpora within the Tullmulla zone, the school occupies a private building that feels both modern and familiar. Smart classrooms bring interactive lessons to life, while a dedicated computer lab lets students practice coding and digital research. The library, stocked with textbooks, reference works and stories in both English and Urdu, encourages quiet reading and independent study. From the first day in Pre‑Nursery to the final examinations in Class 10, the curriculum follows the CBSE guidelines, ensuring that every learner is prepared for the next step, whether it is a higher‑secondary college in Srinagar or a vocational course elsewhere.

The teachers at Gousia are a mix of locally trained educators and professionals who have spent time in larger cities. They are encouraged to blend the national syllabus with the institute’s core belief in “Creating A Better World For Tomorrow.” Lessons are delivered in English, but the school never forgets its Islamic roots; regular sessions on moral discipline and community service are woven into the timetable. Small class sizes mean that teachers can notice each child’s strengths and challenges, offering extra help in mathematics or encouragement in public speaking when needed.

Beyond academics, the school strives to make the campus a place where curiosity is welcomed and respect
