Key Responsibilities
The Transport Incharge will supervise all school bus operations, ensuring safe and timely pick‑up and drop‑off of students across Belagavi and nearby areas. Daily route planning, vehicle allocation, and monitoring of fuel consumption will be handled to optimise costs while maintaining strict safety standards.
Coordination with drivers, conductors and school administration is essential; the incumbent will conduct regular briefings, maintain attendance logs, and verify that all staff possess valid driving licences and necessary TET/CTET certifications where applicable.
Safety audits, vehicle inspections and compliance with Karnataka transport regulations will be performed weekly, and any defects will be reported to the maintenance team for immediate action.
The role includes maintaining detailed records of vehicle maintenance, insurance, and permits, and preparing monthly reports for the school management.
Parent communication is a core part of the job; the Transport Incharge will address queries, resolve complaints, and provide updates on any route changes or emergencies.
Emergency response planning, including drill coordination and first‑aid readiness, will be overseen to ensure swift action in case of accidents or breakdowns.
Collaboration with the school’s finance department to manage transport budgets, fuel bills, and driver salaries will be required, ensuring expenditures stay within the allocated limits.
Qualifications
Graduate degree from any recognised university.
Preferred qualifications include a background in transport or logistics management; experience in a school setting is advantageous.
The candidate should possess a valid driving licence, good knowledge of local roads in Belagavi, and strong organisational skills.
