Job Overview
As a Special Educator, you will play a vital role in fostering a supportive environment for students with diverse needs. This position involves working closely with our school administration, parents, and staff to ensure the overall well-being and progress of students.
What You Will Do
1. Collaborate with school leaders to develop and implement inclusive policies and programs.
2. Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and develop individualized plans.
3. Provide guidance and support to students, parents, and teachers on special education matters.
4. Facilitate parent-teacher conferences and maintain open communication with parents.
5. Develop and implement behavior management strategies and crisis intervention plans.
6. Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement accommodations and modifications.
7. Supervise and support support staff, including special education assistants and therapists.
8. Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and behavior.
9. Participate in school-wide initiatives and professional development opportunities.
Who Can Apply
Must Have:
- Master's degree in Special Education or a related field (M.Ed, M.A., M.Sc)
- 3 years of experience in special education administration and leadership
- Strong understanding of Indian special education laws and regulations (Section 12(1)(c) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009)
- Proficiency in English and Hindi
Good to Have:
- Certification in special education (e.g. B.Ed, D.El.Ed)
- Experience working with students with severe disabilities
- Knowledge of Indian special education policies and practices
