Sherwood Higher Secondary School in Tura is hiring a TGT Physical Education Teacher for its campus at Dadenggiri, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya. The teacher will coordinate intra‑school tournaments, maintain equipment and ensure safety standards. Responsibilities
Design and deliver age‑appropriate Physical Education lessons for classes IX to XII, aligning with the state curriculum. Organise and supervise sports events, games and fitness activities, ensuring participation from all students. Maintain and manage sports equipment, facilities and records of student performance. Conduct regular assessments and provide feedback to students and parents. Collaborate with other teachers to integrate health and wellness topics across the curriculum. Uphold school policies on safety, discipline and attendance during all physical activities.
Qualifications
Post‑graduate qualification in Physical Education or related field, preferably B.Ed or D.El.Ed. Completion of TET/CTET is desirable but not mandatory. Valid teaching eligibility as per state regulations.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Physical Education at the secondary or senior secondary level. Prior experience in conducting school sports meets and managing sports infrastructure is advantageous.
Salary
Rs.17,000 – Rs.30,000 per month, payable as per school norms.
