Job Description
Utkal Gaurav International School in Bant, Bhadrak, is seeking a dedicated NTT Environmental Science (Evs) Teacher to join its team and inspire students with hands-on learning in sustainability and ecology. This full-time role focuses on delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons while fostering practical understanding of environmental concepts through experiments and real-world applications. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for nature-based education and a passion for shaping young minds to become eco-conscious citizens.
The teacher will report directly to the Science Department Head, coordinating with faculty to align lesson plans with the school’s environmental science curriculum. Daily responsibilities include planning and conducting interactive classroom sessions, supervising field trips, and mentoring students in environmental projects. The role also involves preparing lab materials, assessing student performance, and collaborating with parents to support holistic learning.
Core Duties:
Teaching Environmental Science (Evs) to students in grades 6 to 12, ensuring alignment with Odisha’s academic standards and national curriculum frameworks.
Designing and executing experiments, field studies, and outdoor learning activities to deepen students’ understanding of ecosystems, conservation, and renewable energy.
Assisting in organizing school-wide environmental awareness campaigns, such as cleanliness drives, tree-planting initiatives, and waste management programs.
Collaborating with the science department to integrate environmental themes into cross-disciplinary projects, including social studies and science fairs.
Evaluating student progress through continuous assessment, quizzes, and project-based evaluations, while maintaining transparency in grading practices.
A graduate degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field is essential, along with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification to qualify for an NTT position. Two years of teaching experience, preferably in Environmental Science or a science-related subject, is required. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it will be highly beneficial for career growth. The role offers a competitive salary of Rs.12,000 to Rs.20,000 per month, along with the opportunity to work in a vibrant, student-centered environment in Bhadrak’s Bant area.
