Role Summary
Kmbb Public School is looking for a full-time Career Counsellor to guide students on academic and professional pathways. The role involves working closely with school leadership to shape career guidance programs that align with student aspirations and industry trends.
Day-to-Day Duties
Organize career awareness workshops and invite professionals from Cuttack and nearby regions.
Maintain updated records of student interests, aptitudes, and career choices.
Collaborate with class teachers and coordinators to integrate career guidance into regular school activities.
Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions with students and parents to discuss future options.
Coordinate with colleges and vocational institutes for campus visits and internship opportunities.
Prepare monthly reports on student career preferences and programme outcomes.
Recommend relevant books, online resources, and local career fairs to students.
Assist the principal in designing long-term career development initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
Must Have
Postgraduate degree in Psychology, Education, or related field
Minimum 2 years of experience in career counselling or student guidance
Familiarity with Indian education systems and local job markets
Good to Have
Prior work experience in a school environment
Basic knowledge of entrance exams like JEE, NEET, or state-level competitive tests
Skills We Value
Strong communication skills to explain career options clearly
Leadership ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
Organizational skills to manage student data and counselling schedules
Salary and Benefits
Rs.20,000 - Rs.30,000 per month based on experience and qualifications.
