Day-to-Day Duties
Prepare and deliver advanced Odia lessons for Classes XI and XII, covering prose, poetry, grammar, composition, and creative writing aligned with CHSE syllabi. Use differentiated instruction strategies to support students with diverse learning needs, including those with mild learning difficulties or language barriers.
Conduct regular assessments, including unit tests and mock examinations, to track academic progress and provide timely feedback for improvement. Organize remedial sessions for students struggling with Odia literature or grammar, especially during board exam preparation.
Plan and implement co-curricular activities such as Odia debate competitions, elocution, and essay writing events to enhance language skills and cultural engagement. Collaborate with other language teachers at St. Xavier High School to align teaching methodologies and share best practices in Odia pedagogy.
Guide students in selecting Odia as a subject for higher studies or competitive exams like UPSC, OPSC, or state-level language proficiency tests. Assist in maintaining academic records, lesson plans, and resource materials for the Odia department.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings to discuss student progress, especially in language performance, and suggest home-based learning strategies. Contribute to school events like Saraswati Puja and cultural programs where Odia language and literature take center stage.
Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Odia (M.A. Odia) from a recognized Indian university. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) with specialization in Odia or language teaching from a NCTE-recognized institution.
Minimum 3 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level, preferably in CBSE, CHSE, or similar boards. Candidates with prior experience in Kendujhar, Odisha, or neighboring districts will be given preference due to familiarity with local language needs.
