Psychological Counsellor Job in Firozpur, Punjab | School Vacancy
About This Role
A Psychological Counsellor at Dass & Brown World School is responsible for the emotional well-being of students from pre-primary to senior secondary levels. The role involves identifying behavioural patterns, providing individual and group counselling, and collaborating with parents and teachers to create a supportive learning environment. This position ensures that students receive timely mental health support aligned with the school’s inclusive education policies.
What You Will Do
Conduct regular psychological assessments for students showing signs of stress, anxiety, or learning difficulties.
Organize workshops for students, parents, and staff on mental health awareness and coping strategies.
Maintain confidential records of student interactions and share insights with the school leadership for informed decision-making.
Refer students to external mental health professionals when specialized intervention is required.
Work closely with class coordinators to integrate counselling insights into classroom management.
Develop and implement age-appropriate mental health programs in line with Dass & Brown World School’s wellness initiatives.
Monitor student progress through follow-up sessions and adjust counselling plans as needed.
Participate in school events and parent-teacher meetings to promote a culture of emotional openness.
Eligibility Criteria
Must Have
Graduation in Psychology or related field from a recognized university.
Minimum 2 years of experience in school or child counselling.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
Good to Have
Postgraduate degree in Psychology or Counselling.
Experience working in a CBSE-affiliated school.
Familiarity with child development theories and adolescent mental health trends.
