About Shivalik Public School

Nestled on the outskirts of Dera Bassi in the Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district, the neighbourhood hums with a mix of bustling market lanes, leafy avenues and the occasional glimpse of the foothills. The area, with its pincode 160055, has grown from a quiet township into a place where families look for schools that feel like an extension of the community, and Shivalik Public School has become just that familiar landmark. Set in Phase 6 of Mohali, the school’s ten‑acre campus sits close enough for daily commuters yet offers the space that feels separate from the town’s hurried rhythm.

Inside those grounds the school follows the CBSE syllabus, delivering lessons in English while keeping a down‑to‑earth attitude toward learning. Teachers, many of whom have been with the school since its early days, know the children by name and often join parents at local gatherings, making the classroom feel less like a distant institution and more like a continuation of the neighborhood’s daily life. The academic routine balances textbook work with practical projects, and the residential wing gives boarders a home‑like environment that mirrors the values families cherish at home.

What really makes Shivalik stand out is its blend of tradition and flexibility. Established in 1976, the school carries almost half a century of experience, yet it still adapts to the changing needs of students, whether they are day scholars or boarders. The sprawling 32,000‑square‑metre campus hosts sports fields, science labs and quiet corners for reading, all within walking distance of the nearby bus routes that link Dera Bassi to the rest of Mohali.
