What You Will Do
Teach postgraduate students in Critical Care Medicine, including bedside rounds and simulation-based training. Organize monthly journal clubs to discuss recent advances in intensive care research. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations in critical care topics.
Contribute to the department’s research agenda by designing and executing clinical studies on ICU protocols. Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals indexed in PubMed and Scopus. Present research at national conferences such as ISCCM and APICON.
Guide doctoral students in their thesis work, ensuring alignment with UGC norms. Evaluate external Ph.D. theses for universities across India. Mentor students in grant writing for ICMR and DBT funding opportunities.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Critical Care Medicine or allied specialties from a recognized university is mandatory. Post-doctoral research experience in a tertiary care ICU is preferred. UGC-NET with JRF or equivalent national eligibility is required if Ph.D. is not completed.
Minimum two years of teaching or clinical experience in a university or tertiary care hospital is necessary. Demonstrated ability to lead independent research projects is essential. Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS or R is desirable.
Academic Projects
Lead collaborative projects with Jaipur’s SMS Hospital and Fortis Escorts on ICU infection control. Apply for ICMR extramural grants for studies on acute respiratory distress syndrome. Publish at least two papers annually in journals with an impact factor above 2.0.
Participate in university-funded seed grants for pilot studies in critical care nutrition. Partner with pharmaceutical companies for observational drug safety studies in ICUs. Contribute to departmental projects on sepsis bundles and early mobilization protocols.
Doctoral Guidance
Supervise 3-5 Ph.D. scholars at any given time, aligning their work with departmental priorities. Conduct periodic reviews of thesis progress and provide constructive feedback. Serve on doctoral committees for students from other universities when requested.
Evaluate Ph.D. theses for universities in Rajasthan and neighboring states. Assist in framing research questions that address local ICU challenges, such as multi-drug resistance. Encourage students to present their work at regional and national platforms.

The position offers a consolidated salary of Rs.80,000 - Rs.140,000 per month as per UGC norms. Additional research grants up to Rs.5,00,000 per year are available for approved projects. Jaipur National University provides furnished accommodation on campus at subsidized rates.
