A School in Gangtok, Sikkim has an immediate opening for a Physical Education Teacher. Delhi Public School is looking for a passionate Post Graduate Teacher to lead its Physical Education program. The Physical Education Teacher Job in Gangtok is a full-time role for candidates with at least three years of experience in school-level sports coaching and physical training.
Role Summary
The Physical Education Teacher Vacancy in Gangtok is to be filled on an urgent basis with an immediate joining preferred. The selected candidate will design age-appropriate fitness modules and manage inter-house and inter-school sports events. Delhi Public School expects the teacher to integrate health education with practical sports training for students from classes VI to XII.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and conduct daily Physical Education classes for grades VI through XII. Organize annual sports day, inter-house tournaments, and district-level competitions. Maintain equipment inventory, sports ground upkeep, and safety compliance at all times.
Assess students’ fitness levels through standard tests and provide progress feedback to parents. Collaborate with yoga and dance instructors to offer a balanced extracurricular program. Supervise morning assembly drills and ensure participation of all students.
Coordinate with external coaches for specialized sports like football, basketball, and athletics. Prepare students for CBSE sports certificates and national-level events. Document attendance, achievements, and certificates for each student annually.
Required Qualifications
Post Graduate degree in Physical Education or Sports Science from a recognized university. B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with specialization in Physical Education is mandatory. Minimum three years of teaching experience in a CBSE-affiliated school is required.
Prior experience in organizing CBSE sports meets and managing school teams is preferred. Knowledge of sports medicine and first aid certification will be an added advantage. Fluency in English and Nepali is desirable for smooth communication.
Salary and Benefits
