Day-to-Day Duties
1. Plan and conduct age-appropriate Art And Craft Teacher Recruitment in Sikkim sessions aligned with the school’s curriculum and seasonal themes.
2. Organize and maintain a well-equipped art and craft corner with reusable and sustainable materials.
3. Demonstrate techniques in drawing, painting, clay modeling, paper craft, and mixed media to small groups.
4. Prepare students for school exhibitions, inter-house art competitions, and community events.
5. Assess student progress through practical assignments and portfolio reviews without formal grading pressure.
6. Collaborate with other PRT teachers to integrate art into cross-curricular projects like festivals of Sikkim or local cultural themes.
7. Keep updated records of student participation, material usage, and inventory for smooth classroom management.
Required Qualifications
The candidate must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university and a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. Prior experience in primary teaching, especially in art education, is essential. While TET/CTET is not mandatory, exposure to child-centered teaching methods and familiarity with Sikkim’s school environment will be advantageous. Knowledge of local artistic traditions like Thangka painting or Lepcha motifs is welcome but not required.
