Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Post-Graduate Teacher Chemistry to join our academic team at a leading Tier 4 school. As a PGT Chemistry teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to a maximum of 25 students per class, with an ideal student-teacher ratio of 15:1. You will contribute to the development of a supportive and inclusive learning environment, where students can thrive and achieve their academic potential.
Work Environment:
- Teaching load: 20 classes per week
- Class duration: 45 minutes per class
- Average class size: 20 students
- Student-teacher ratio: 15:1
- Measurable outcomes:
- 85% of students achieve A-C grades in Chemistry at GCSE level
- 90% of students demonstrate a significant improvement in Chemistry grades from KS3 to KS4
- 95% of students attend Chemistry lessons regularly and actively participate in class discussions
Teaching Methodology:
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related subject is required
- A Post-Graduate degree in Chemistry or a related subject is preferred
- A recognized teaching certification, such as the Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or a similar qualification, is highly desirable
- Experience in teaching Chemistry to students aged 11-16
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for Chemistry and the GCSE examination specification
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Performance Expectations:
- Deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all students
- Set and achieve challenging targets for student progress and attainment
- Conduct regular formative and summative assessments to inform teaching and learning
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on a regular basis
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to the development of school policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment
KPIs and targets:
- Student progress and attainment: 85% of students achieve A-C grades in Chemistry at GCSE level
- Student engagement and participation: 95% of students attend Chemistry lessons regularly and actively participate in class discussions
- Teacher assessment: 90% of students demonstrate a significant improvement in Chemistry grades from KS3 to KS4

Salary and Compensation:
- Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum
