The school is seeking a qualified and dedicated Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) in Music to join our esteemed faculty. The TGT Music teacher will plan, organize, and conduct lessons that align with the school’s academic and extracurricular objectives. Your Responsibilities
Minimum Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement a structured music curriculum for Grades 9 to 12, ensuring alignment with the National Curriculum Framework and school policies.
2. Plan and deliver engaging music lessons that cover theoretical knowledge, practical skills (e.g., vocal training, instrumental performance), and historical context.
3. Assess student progress through regular evaluations, including written tests, practical exams, and performance assessments.
4. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in compliance with school and regulatory requirements.
5. Organize and supervise music-related extracurricular activities, such as school bands, choirs, or annual cultural events.
6. Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages creativity, discipline, and mutual respect.
7. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and participation in music programs.
8. Participate in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and parent-teacher conferences as required.
9. Ensure the maintenance and safe use of music equipment and resources, reporting any issues to the administration.
10. Uphold the school’s code of conduct, child protection policies, and anti-discrimination norms at all times.
Preferred Responsibilities
1. Experience teaching music in a secondary school setting, particularly in a Tier 4 location.
2. Proficiency in playing multiple musical instruments and familiarity with Western, Indian, and regional musical traditions.
3. Ability to integrate technology (e.g., digital audio workstations, music theory software) into lessons.
4. Experience organizing inter-school or inter-house music competitions.
5. Strong leadership skills to mentor student leaders in music clubs or ensembles.
6. Willingness to contribute to curriculum development or revision efforts.
7. Fluency in the local language(s) of the Tier 4 location to facilitate communication with students and parents.
8. Commitment to inclusive education practices, including adaptations for students with diverse learning needs.
Performance Expectations
1. Student Achievement
a. At least 80% of students in each class demonstrate measurable improvement in musical skills and theoretical understanding as evidenced by periodic assessments.
b. Participation rates in music-related extracurricular activities exceed 70% of the student body.
2. Classroom Management
a. Classroom behavior aligns with the school’s discipline policy, with fewer than 5% of classes disrupted by behavioral issues.
b. All students actively engage in lessons, with minimal need for corrective intervention.
3. Curriculum Implementation
a. 100% of lesson plans are prepared in advance and aligned with the approved syllabus.
b. At least 90% of lessons are delivered as planned, with adjustments made only for pedagogical or logistical reasons.
4. Assessment and Reporting
a. All assessments (formative and summative) are conducted on schedule and results are communicated to students and parents within two weeks.
b. Grade books and student portfolios are maintained accurately and updated regularly.
5. Professional Conduct
a. Adherence to the school’s code of conduct, including punctuality, dress code, and professional ethics.
b. Participation in at least 80% of mandatory professional development sessions.
6. Extracurricular Engagement
a. At least one major music event (e.g., annual concert, inter-house competition) is organized per academic year.
b. Participation in at least two external music competitions or festivals, with at least one student achieving a top-three position.
7. Compliance and Safety
a. Strict adherence to child protection policies, including mandatory reporting of any suspected abuse or misconduct.
b. Proper documentation of all incidents, accidents, or near-misses related to music activities, with reports submitted to the administration within 24 hours.
8. Collaboration and Communication
a. Regular collaboration with other departments (e.g., arts, physical education) to integrate music into interdisciplinary projects.

Salary and Compensation
1. Base Salary: INR 30,000 per month (gross).
2. House Rent Allowance (HRA): INR 6,000 per month (if applicable, as per school policy).
3. Transport Allowance: INR 2,000 per month (if applicable, as per school policy).
4. Annual Performance Bonus: Up to 10% of base salary, subject to performance evaluation.
5. Professional Development Allowance: INR 10,000 per year for approved courses or workshops.
6. Leave Entitlements:
a. Paid Leave: 20 days of casual leave, 10 days of sick leave, and 15 days of earned leave per academic year.
b. Leave Encashment: Up to 10 days of earned leave may be encashed at the end of the academic year.
c. Maternity/Paternity Leave: As per the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017, and relevant labor laws.
7. Provident Fund: Contribution of 12% of basic salary, with matching contribution from the school.
8. Gratuity: As per the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, after completion of five years of service.
