PGT Chemistry Teacher Job in Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu | School Recruitment
The reality of this role
This is a full-time PGT Chemistry Teacher position at Srv Academy in Lalgudi, Tiruchirappalli. You will handle Chemistry classes for higher secondary students preparing for board exams. Expect daily lesson planning, lab demonstrations, and exam paper evaluation as core responsibilities. The job involves teaching two sections with around 35-40 students in each class.
What you will actually do
Prepare and deliver structured Chemistry lessons aligned with the Tamilnadu State Board syllabus.
Conduct practical sessions in the school lab twice a week, ensuring safe handling of chemicals.
Design question papers for unit tests and half-yearly exams with clear marking schemes.
Grade answer sheets within 48 hours and maintain accurate student progress records.
Organize remedial classes for students struggling with mole concept or organic reactions.
Attend weekly department meetings to discuss curriculum updates and teaching strategies.
Coordinate with lab assistants to maintain inventory of chemicals and glassware.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings to explain student performance in Chemistry.
Who can do this job
Postgraduate degree in Chemistry with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university.
B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification mandatory.
Two years of teaching experience in Chemistry at higher secondary level preferred.
Prior experience in Tamilnadu State Board system is an advantage.
