About English Oriental Academy

Since opening the doors of English Oriental Academy in 2006, my aim has been simple: to give the children of Behrampore, Murshidabad, a reliable place where they can learn, think and grow. The school sits on a modest campus on the banks of the Ganges, and every morning I see families from the town and surrounding villages arriving with the same hope – that their children will receive an education that prepares them for the future while staying rooted in our community.

We are affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi (Affiliation No. 2430171, School Code 15607), which means our curriculum follows the national standards and gives our students a clear path to higher studies across India. In the classrooms, teachers use the CBSE framework to balance textbook learning with practical work, encouraging students to ask questions and apply what they learn to real‑world situations. Our science labs, computer rooms and modest library are equipped to support this approach, and I make it a point to visit each class regularly to see how the lessons are being received.

Our school serves a diverse group of learners – from the children of local shopkeepers and farmers to those of professionals who have moved to Murshidabad for work. We strive to keep fees reasonable so that education remains accessible, while still maintaining a level of discipline and academic rigor that prepares our students for the challenges of the board examinations and beyond.

As principal, I bring my own background in science (M.Sc.) and education (B.Ed) to the role, and I work closely with a team of teachers who share a commitment to clarity, consistency and personal attention. Every year we celebrate the small milestones – a student’s first experiment, a well‑written essay, a cricket match won on the school ground – because those moments are the
