About Presidency Sr Sec School | Cachar

Presidency Senior Secondary School, also known as Presidency Junior College, is a co‑educational day school situated on Sonai Road in Uttar Krishnapur, Silchar, Assam (Pincode 788005). The school primarily serves families living in the Barak Valley and surrounding areas of Cachar district, offering education to children from the local community as well as those who travel from nearby towns.

The institution follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum and provides classes from Nursery through Class XII. In the senior secondary section students can choose among Science, Arts and Commerce streams. Teaching staff are recruited on the basis of relevant qualifications and experience, and most teachers hold at least a postgraduate degree in their subject area or in education. The school’s academic program is structured around the board’s prescribed syllabus and assessment guidelines.

Students have access to functional science laboratories, a library, and organized co‑curricular activities such as sports and cultural events. The campus includes separate hostels for boys and girls, which are available for those who need residential accommodation. Parents can expect regular classroom instruction, periodic assessments aligned with CBSE standards, and support for board examinations; historically the school has recorded a high pass rate in those exams, though individual outcomes depend on each student’s effort and engagement.
