What You Will Do
Own the primary dance curriculum for grades 1 to 5 at St Josph Public School, aligning lessons with age-appropriate learning outcomes. Design weekly plans, monthly assessments, and annual showcases for school events.
Mentor two junior PRT dance teachers, conduct demonstration lessons, and provide constructive feedback on lesson delivery. Support their professional growth through classroom observations and reflective discussions.
Integrate classical, folk, and contemporary dance forms relevant to Bihar’s cultural context. Organize inter-house dance competitions and prepare students for district-level cultural fests.
Track student progress using simple rubrics and maintain records of skill development for parent-teacher meetings. Share quarterly progress reports highlighting strengths and areas needing practice.
Collaborate with music and arts teachers to create cross-curricular dance projects. Integrate storytelling through movement and connect with local themes during festivals like Chhath and Holi.
Prepare students for school assemblies and annual day performances with choreography that reflects school values. Coordinate costume fittings and rehearsal schedules within academic timelines.
Encourage participation from students with varied abilities by adapting movements and offering alternative roles in group performances. Promote inclusivity through modified dance activities.
Attend staff meetings and contribute to school-wide cultural initiatives. Represent St Josph Public School at inter-school dance events in Samastipur district.
Required Qualifications
Graduate in any discipline with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed from a recognized institution. Minimum two years of teaching experience in primary classes, preferably in dance or arts education.
TET or CTET certification is not mandatory but will be considered an advantage. Fluency in Hindi and English is required for classroom instruction and communication.
Experience in organizing school-level dance events or competitions is preferred. Knowledge of local Bhojpuri or Maithili folk dance forms will be valued.
