About This Role
Maxfort School is looking for a dynamic Theatre Teacher for our Model Town campus in North Delhi. This is a full-time leadership role where you will oversee the school’s theatre program, mentor students in performance and production, and coordinate with administrators to integrate theatre arts into school activities. Day-to-Day Duties
1. Plan and execute monthly theatre productions, including script selection, casting, and rehearsal scheduling.
2. Lead weekly theatre workshops for students across Grades 6 to 12, focusing on voice modulation, stage presence, and character building.
3. Organize inter-house and inter-school theatre festivals and competitions in collaboration with other departments.
4. Maintain inventory of costumes, props, and stage equipment, and coordinate with the maintenance team for set up.
5. Document student progress through video recordings and feedback sessions for performance improvement.
6. Liaise with external theatre professionals for guest sessions and exposure opportunities for students.
7. Prepare annual budget proposals for theatre activities and manage expenses under guidance of the school leadership.
8. Represent Maxfort School in cultural forums and theatre-related events across Delhi.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university is required. A Diploma or Certification in Theatre Arts, Drama, or Performing Arts will be preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic video editing tools is necessary for documentation and reporting.
What Makes You a Fit
Candidates with 2 years of experience in theatre direction, stage management, or youth theatre programs are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in a school or educational setting adds value. Familiarity with CBSE or Delhi government school culture and event formats is desirable.
