About This Role
Chinmaya Vidyalaya is looking for a qualified LIBRARIAN to manage the school library in Saket, South Delhi. The role involves maintaining an organized and accessible learning resource centre for students and staff. Experience in school library management is essential for this position.
What You Will Do
1. Organize, classify, and catalogue books, periodicals, and digital resources using standard library systems.
2. Issue and return books, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely renewal or fine collection.
3. Curate age-appropriate reading material and academic resources aligned with school curriculum.
4. Assist students in locating reference materials and guide them toward suitable reading choices.
5. Conduct library orientation sessions for new students and parents during admission periods.
6. Coordinate with teachers to integrate library resources into classroom teaching and projects.
7. Maintain cleanliness, proper lighting, and a conducive reading environment in the library space.
8. Oversee inventory, track usage statistics, and recommend new titles based on demand.
Who Can Apply
Graduates with a degree in Library Science or equivalent are eligible to apply. Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in a school or educational library setting. Basic proficiency in computer operations and library management software is required. Familiarity with online cataloguing tools will be an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Dewey Decimal Classification and CCE-based resource planning is preferred. Strong communication skills in English and Hindi are necessary to interact with students and staff. Organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for maintaining an efficient library system.
Perks and Pay
