What is this role?
St. Marys English School in Bhavnagar is looking for a full‑time PGT Botany Teacher. The position is for a senior teaching role in the Botany department, catering to classes XI and XII under the Gujarat State Board curriculum.
What will I actually do?
You will plan and deliver engaging Botany lessons, covering plant physiology, genetics, ecology and allied topics. Responsibilities include preparing practical lab sessions, evaluating student performance through tests and projects, and maintaining accurate records. You will also mentor students for board examinations, guide them in science fairs, and collaborate with other faculty to integrate interdisciplinary activities.
What do I need to qualify?
A postgraduate degree in Botany or a related life science is mandatory. Candidates must hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. While TET/CTET is not compulsory, it is considered an advantage.
What experience is expected?
A minimum of two years of teaching experience at the PGT level in a school setting is required. Experience in conducting laboratory practicals and guiding students for board exams will be beneficial.
What does it pay?
The salary range for this position is Rs.35,000 – Rs.55,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
