Core Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging chemistry lessons covering topics from the IB Chemistry syllabus, including theoretical concepts, practical experiments, and real-world applications. Assess student progress through continuous evaluation, including internal assessments and IB exams, ensuring compliance with curriculum standards. Collaborate with the IB coordinator to integrate chemistry into interdisciplinary projects and cross-curricular activities.
Additional Duties
Support the development and implementation of laboratory-based learning activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed and resources are utilized effectively. Participate in departmental meetings to discuss teaching strategies, curriculum updates, and student performance trends. Assist in organizing and leading chemistry-related extracurricular activities, such as science fairs or competitions, to enhance student interest and participation.
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a postgraduate degree in Chemistry or a related field with at least two years of teaching experience. A B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is preferred, though not mandatory. Strong command of the English language is essential for delivering lessons in an international educational environment.
