Job Description
Mblm School in Gurugram is seeking a dedicated PGT Political Science Teacher to join its dynamic academic team. This role involves shaping young minds with a strong foundation in contemporary political thought, governance, and international relations. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for engaging students through interactive lessons while aligning with Mblm School’s commitment to holistic education.
The teacher will report to the Department Head of Social Sciences and collaborate closely with curriculum coordinators to ensure alignment with state syllabi. The scope includes designing lesson plans, facilitating classroom discussions, and supporting extracurricular events like debate clubs or model UN simulations.
Core Duties
Teaching Political Science at the senior secondary level, covering topics like Indian politics, comparative governance, and global political theories. Developing engaging lesson plans that incorporate real-world case studies and current affairs, ensuring relevance to students’ interests.
Preparing and grading assessments, including exams and continuous evaluation, while maintaining transparency and fairness in grading practices. Engaging with students through one-on-one interactions, mentoring, and encouraging critical thinking in discussions.
Collaborating with the Social Sciences department to integrate interdisciplinary approaches, such as history, economics, and geography, to deepen students’ understanding of political systems. Representing Mblm School at parent-teacher meetings and school events to foster a supportive learning environment.
Ensuring compliance with Mblm School’s policies on digital learning tools and assessment methodologies, while adapting teaching methods to meet diverse student needs. Maintaining an active presence in school-wide initiatives, such as cultural fairs or awareness campaigns on civic rights.
Qualification and Experience
Hold a postgraduate degree in Political Science or a related discipline with at least two years of teaching experience in a similar role. Possession of a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is mandatory for this position. Familiarity with the CBSE or Haryana State Board syllabus for Political Science is highly desirable.
A passion for contemporary political issues and an ability to communicate complex theories in accessible ways are essential. Experience in motivating students through interactive teaching methods will be advantageous. Knowledge of educational technology and digital platforms for virtual learning is a plus.
Compensation and Location
The selected candidate will receive a monthly salary ranging from Rs.45,000 to Rs.70,000, depending on qualifications and experience. The role is based in Gurugram, Haryana, offering a vibrant urban setting with access to educational resources and cultural opportunities.
