About This Role
The Psychological Counsellor will be responsible for providing emotional support and guidance to students, teachers, and staff members at The Scottish High School. This role is focused on promoting a positive school culture and ensuring the well-being of our community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students, teachers, and staff members to address their emotional, social, and academic needs.
2. Develop and implement school-wide programmes to promote mental health, wellness, and resilience among students and staff.
3. Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify and address student learning and emotional needs.
4. Conduct risk assessments and develop crisis intervention plans for students at risk.
5. Provide staff training and support to enhance their understanding of student mental health and wellbeing.
6. Maintain accurate records and reports of counselling sessions and student progress.
7. Develop and maintain relationships with local mental health professionals and community resources to provide students and staff with access to external support.
8. Participate in school-wide meetings and committees to provide input on student and staff wellbeing.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must have a postgraduate degree in Counselling Psychology or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a school setting or a similar setting is required.
