About This Role
Mln Public School, a leading educational institution in Jind, Haryana, is seeking an experienced LIBRARIAN to join its staff. The LIBRARIAN will be responsible for managing the school library, developing and implementing library policies, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the library.
Day-to-Day Duties
1. Oversee the daily operations of the school library, including the management of books, journals, and other library materials.
2. Develop and maintain the library collection, including the selection of new materials and the weeding out of outdated or irrelevant items.
3. Provide research assistance to students and faculty members, including helping with research projects and locating relevant materials.
4. Assist in the implementation of library policies and procedures, including circulation policies, collection development policies, and other related matters.
5. Supervise library staff, including library assistants and other support staff.
6. Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement information literacy programs.
7. Maintain accurate records of library transactions, including circulation records, inventory records, and other related data.
8. Participate in the development and implementation of the school's information technology plan.
Eligibility Criteria
The ideal candidate should have a postgraduate degree in Library Science or a related field. The candidate should also have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a school library setting. Familiarity with computerized library systems and databases is essential.
Preferred Skills
The candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty members, and other library staff. The candidate should also have knowledge of library software and other technical tools, including online catalogs, databases, and other related resources.
Salary and Benefits
The LIBRARIAN will be paid a salary of Rs.20,000 - Rs.30,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications. The school also offers a range of benefits, including paid leave, holidays, and other perks.
