About Delhi Public School | Kangra

When we first opened the doors of Delhi Public School | Kangra in the heart of Kangra town, our aim was simple: to give the children of this valley a place where curiosity is respected and learning is taken seriously. The school sits on the banks of the Beas, surrounded by the pine‑clad hills that have shaped our community for generations. From the very beginning, I have believed that a school should be rooted in its surroundings, and that belief guides everything we do—from the way we design our classrooms to the subjects we choose to emphasize.

Our students come from families that have lived in Kangra for decades as well as from new settlers drawn to the region’s clean air and tranquil setting. We serve boys and girls from the early years through class XII, many of whom travel from nearby villages such as Dharamshala, Palampur and Nagrota. Their parents trust us because we keep the curriculum rigorous, aligned with the CBSE board, while also giving space for the practical skills that a mountain community needs—basic computer literacy, environmental stewardship, and a strong command of both Hindi and English.

In the classroom, teachers follow the CBSE framework but are encouraged to go beyond textbooks when a lesson can be linked to the world outside. A science class might include a field study of the local river’s water quality; a history lesson often references the rich cultural tapestry of Himachal Pradesh. We run a modest but well‑equipped lab, a library that houses recent titles as well as classic works, and a sports ground where students practice football, cricket and traditional games that keep the local spirit alive. The goal is to ensure that each child leaves the school not only prepared for board examinations but also capable of thinking clearly and acting responsibly in the community.

Looking ahead, I see Delhi Public School | Kangra as a place where the next generation of doctors, engineers, teachers and entrepreneurs will begin their journey. We remain committed to providing a disciplined yet supportive environment, where hard work is recognised and every student is given the chance to discover his or her own path. It is a privilege to watch these young people grow, and I am grateful to the families, staff and neighbours who share this vision every day.
