Music (PRT) Vacancy in New Delhi, Delhi
The Indian School
Job Description
The Indian School in New Delhi seeks a dedicated PRT Music Teacher to inspire young minds through creative and engaging music education. This role is ideal for someone passionate about nurturing musical talent in students while aligning with the school’s commitment to holistic learning.
To lead this responsibility, you will design and deliver engaging music lessons across various grades, covering instruments, theory, and performance skills. Your curriculum will integrate modern teaching methods with traditional Indian music, ensuring students develop both technical proficiency and cultural appreciation. Classroom management will include creating a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to explore their musical abilities, whether through group activities or individual practice sessions.
You will prepare and deliver daily lessons, assessments, and progress reports to track student growth. Collaborating with other teachers, you’ll participate in planning school-wide music events, such as concerts or festivals, to showcase student achievements. Maintaining discipline and fostering a positive attitude in the classroom is essential for a productive learning experience.
Teaching practical skills like singing, playing instruments, and basic music theory will be a core part of your role. You’ll also assist in organizing extracurricular music programs, such as choirs or orchestras, to encourage student participation beyond the classroom. Ensuring compliance with school policies and maintaining accurate records of student progress is part of your administrative duties.
To qualify, hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with a graduate background in music. Two years of teaching experience, preferably in a school setting, is required. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it will be an asset. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of Rs.17,000 to Rs.30,000 per month, along with the opportunity to work in New Delhi’s vibrant educational environment at The Indian School.
