What You Will Do
1. Organize, categorize, and maintain a collection of over 5,000 books and digital resources at Shiva International Residential School.
2. Assist students and staff with locating books, periodicals, and reference materials for research and leisure reading.
3. Implement and monitor the library’s circulation system to ensure accurate record-keeping and timely returns.
4. Plan and conduct library orientation sessions for new students and parents during the academic year.
5. Maintain digital records of inventory using library software and prepare monthly reports for the school administration.
6. Ensure the library remains a clean, quiet, and conducive space for study and learning.
7. Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into classroom projects and assignments.
8. Manage subscriptions to journals and magazines, and oversee the procurement of new books as per curriculum needs.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Minimum 2 years of experience as a LIBRARIAN in a school or educational institution. Proficiency in basic computer applications such as MS Office, Excel, and library management software.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Dewey Decimal Classification system and cataloging standards. Strong interpersonal skills to assist diverse age groups. Ability to handle administrative tasks with attention to detail.
Salary and Benefits
Fixed monthly salary of Rs.20,000 to Rs.30,000. Benefits include free accommodation on campus and access to school facilities.
