Job Description
Role Summary
The selected candidate will teach Environmental Studies (EVS) to primary classes, delivering the curriculum in an engaging manner and fostering students’ awareness of environmental issues, sustainability and local ecology.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct EVS lessons in line with the school’s syllabus, incorporating hands‑on activities, field visits and projects that relate to the local environment of Palamu.
- Develop age‑appropriate teaching aids, worksheets and visual materials to illustrate concepts such as natural resources, waste management, climate change and biodiversity.
- Assess student progress through classwork, projects, oral presentations and periodic tests, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records.
- Encourage participation in school‑level environmental initiatives, clubs or competitions, guiding students to apply classroom learning to real‑world contexts.
- Collaborate with fellow primary teachers to integrate cross‑curricular themes, ensuring a cohesive learning experience.
- Maintain classroom discipline, uphold the school’s policies and create a safe, inclusive atmosphere for all learners.
- Participate in staff meetings, parent‑teacher interactions and professional development sessions as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate degree in any discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferably in primary education and with exposure to EVS or related subjects.
- Demonstrated ability to design interactive lessons and manage a primary classroom effectively.
Employment Details
- Position: Primary Teacher (EVS) – full‑time
- Salary: Rs. 14,000 – Rs. 30,000 per month, payable as per school norms.
- Location: Oxford Public School, Chainpur, Palamu, Jharkhand (Tier 4).
