This senior position at St Xaviers High School is designed for an experienced music educator ready to lead the Music department with strategic vision. What You Will Do
Design and deliver the Music curriculum for Classes 9 to 12, ensuring alignment with CBSE standards and local cultural contexts in Jajpur. Curate performance-based assessments and prepare students for practical and theory examinations that reflect board expectations.
Plan and execute school concerts, inter-house music competitions, and inter-school festivals to showcase student talent and build institutional prestige. These events are central to St Xaviers High School’s extracurricular calendar and community engagement.
Mentor junior music teachers, conduct classroom observations, and provide constructive feedback focused on pedagogy and student engagement. Support their professional growth through collaborative lesson planning and resource sharing.
Oversee the selection and training of students for state-level and national music competitions, maintaining a strong track record of achievements. Document progress and outcomes to inform future curriculum adjustments.
Integrate technology such as digital audio workstations and online ear-training tools to modernize music instruction. Ensure all resources comply with school ICT policies and safety protocols.
Collaborate with the art and physical education departments to create interdisciplinary projects that highlight creative expression across subjects. These initiatives strengthen student participation and cross-disciplinary learning.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessment scores, and equipment inventory for audit and reporting purposes. Ensure compliance with CBSE guidelines and school administrative procedures.
Attend staff meetings, departmental reviews, and parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress and address concerns related to music learning.
Participate in school events, orientation programs, and cultural fairs as a representative of the Music department. Represent St Xaviers High School at external forums when required.
Who Can Apply
Postgraduate in Music with a minimum of five years of teaching experience in a secondary school environment. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory; TET or CTET qualification will be an added advantage.
Prior experience in coaching students for board examinations and competitive events is essential. Familiarity with CBSE Music syllabus and assessment patterns is preferred.
Learning and Development

What You Get
