About St. Teresas Convent High School

When I first walked through the doorway of 25‑B, Swami Vivekanand Road, back in the early days of my career, I felt the weight of a promise that had been made a century earlier. The sisters of the Carmelite Religious had already sown the seeds of learning in Santacruz West, and I was determined to nurture that legacy into something that would serve the families of Mumbai for generations to come. Today, St. Teresa’s Convent High School stands as a living testament to that promise—an institution where the echo of the past meets the aspirations of today’s children.

Our school opens its doors to boys and girls from Lower Kindergarten through Class 10, offering a continuous English‑medium programme that follows the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. The curriculum is anchored in the standards set by the board, yet we go beyond textbooks to encourage inquiry, responsibility and a love for learning. The classrooms, sixteen in number, are housed in a sturdy multi‑storey building that has been adapted over the years to meet modern needs. A well‑stocked interactive library, a computer lab, and a playground give students the space to read, experiment and play, while ramps and accessible facilities ensure that every child, regardless of physical ability, can move about the campus with ease.

Our community is a mosaic of families from the bustling streets of Willingdon to the quieter lanes of nearby suburbs. They come to us because they trust a school that has stood for more than a hundred years, a school that values discipline as much as curiosity, and that respects each child’s unique temperament. The teachers, many of whom have spent decades within these walls, bring a blend of experience and fresh ideas, guided by the Carmelite spirit of service. Together we aim to shape students who are not only prepared for the examinations that mark the end of Class 10 but also equipped to think critically and act compassionately in the wider world.

Each academic session begins in April, and the rhythm of the year is marked by festivals, sports meets and moments of quiet reflection in our chapel. While we honor tradition, we also embrace change, updating our methods and resources to keep pace with the evolving educational landscape.
