The role focuses on teaching dance as both an academic and extracurricular subject, fostering cultural awareness and physical development.
You will design and conduct engaging dance classes, covering classical, folk, and contemporary styles tailored to students’ age groups. Instruction must align with school curriculum standards while encouraging participation through structured drills, choreography, and performance opportunities. Assessment will include practical demonstrations, participation in school events, and feedback from peers and mentors.
Teaching will extend beyond the classroom, as you may lead dance workshops, organize cultural festivals, and collaborate with other teachers to integrate dance into school activities. Maintaining a safe and inclusive environment is essential, ensuring all students feel encouraged to explore their talents.
Your responsibilities also include preparing lesson plans, grading assignments, and maintaining records of student progress. Regular communication with parents and school management will ensure smooth implementation of dance programs.
To qualify, hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree along with a graduate degree in dance or related field. Two years of teaching experience, preferably in schools, is mandatory. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it will be highly beneficial. The monthly salary for this role is Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 30,000, depending on qualifications and performance.
