Role Overview
The Peon will support daily operations at Vivekananda Shiksha Kendra, ensuring a clean, safe, and well‑organized environment for students and staff. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, corridors, and common areas, including sweeping, dusting, and waste disposal.
- Assist in setting up and dismantling furniture and equipment for classes, assemblies, and events.
- Monitor and report any maintenance issues such as leaks, electrical faults, or broken fixtures to the appropriate authority.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, stationery, and other consumables, ensuring timely replenishment.
- Support the school’s security by monitoring access points, reporting suspicious activity, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Coordinate with transport services for smooth pick‑up and drop‑off of students.
- Handle basic errands such as courier services, delivery of school newsletters, and distribution of school materials.
Leadership and Coordination
While the role is primarily operational, the Peon will act as a liaison between faculty, students, and external service providers, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar administrative or support role within an educational setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good communication skills in Hindi and English; knowledge of Odia is an advantage.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and occasional lifting of heavy items.
