Baba Devi Sr. Sec. School invites a dedicated PGT Botany Teacher to join its faculty in Bikaner, Rajasthan. This role demands expertise in plant physiology, genetics, and ecological studies, tailored for senior secondary education. The position requires a strong grasp of modern botany research and its pedagogical application to engage students with hands-on experiments.
The PGT Botany Teacher will design and implement advanced laboratory sessions, including fieldwork in local flora, such as desert plants and medicinal herbs. Curriculum development for Botany at the Class 11-12 level will be a key responsibility, ensuring alignment with CBSE/ICSE syllabi while incorporating regional biodiversity studies. Field trips to botanical gardens or agricultural farms near Bikaner will be organized to supplement classroom learning.
Botany-specific assessments will focus on practical evaluations like plant tissue culture, microscopy, and identification of edible/poisonous plants. The teacher must also mentor students in research projects, such as studying desert adaptations or sustainable agriculture practices. Collaboration with science coordinators will ensure seamless integration of Botany with other STEM subjects.
Applicants must hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with a postgraduate qualification in Botany or a related field. A minimum of two years of teaching experience in Botany at the senior secondary level is required. While TET/CTET is not mandatory, prior experience in Rajasthan schools is preferred.
