Job Overview

We need an experienced Tamil Teacher to deliver the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (Ibmyp) curriculum in our Madurai campus.
You will plan lessons, assess student progress, and communicate with parents in Tamil as well as English.
The role is full-time and requires three years of teaching experience in Tamil at the middle school level.
Experience with Ibmyp is preferred but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teach Tamil language and literature to students in grades 6 to 8 following the Ibmyp framework.
2. Develop unit planners, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with Ibmyp criteria.
3. Conduct formative and summative assessments in Tamil and maintain accurate records.
4. Organize classroom activities that encourage spoken Tamil, reading, and creative writing.
5. Collaborate with the Ibmyp Tamil Teacher in Tamilnadu team to share resources and strategies.
6. Attend weekly department meetings and contribute to curriculum mapping sessions.
7. Participate in school events such as Tamil pandit sabha and cultural programmes.
8. Communicate regularly with parents in Tamil or English about student progress.
9. Support students preparing for state-level competitions like Tamil Elakiyavattam.

Eligibility

Must Have
- Postgraduate degree in Tamil (M.A. Tamil) from a recognized Indian university
- B.Ed or M.Ed degree with Tamil specialization
- Minimum 3 years of full-time teaching experience in Tamil at middle school level
- Fluency in spoken and written Tamil and working knowledge of English
- Ability to use digital tools for lesson planning and assessment

Good to Have
- Experience teaching within an international or Ibmyp curriculum
- NET/SET qualified in Tamil
- Familiarity with Tamil Nadu state board syllabus and assessment patterns
- Exposure to inclusive classroom strategies
- Prior experience in parent-teacher coordination
