We maintain state-of-the-art science and technology labs equipped with modern instrumentation, digital microscopes, high-precision balances, and modular workstations designed to foster hands-on discovery. Our campus includes dedicated prep rooms, chemical storage vaults, and safety-compliant waste-disposal systems. You will have access to a fully networked learning management system that integrates lab schedules, risk assessments, and inventory tracking. Employee Benefits (Leadership duties)
As a senior lab assistant, you will step into a leadership role that carries additional responsibilities and rewards. Benefits include a competitive salary band at the top of the none-teacher scale, a performance-linked annual bonus, and a leadership stipend for overseeing junior staff. You will receive a comprehensive benefits package that covers family health insurance, annual wellness checks, and access to a private pension plan with employer matching. Professional development funds are available for advanced certifications and conferences. You will also be entitled to priority scheduling for school holidays and paid leave for conference attendance, ensuring a healthy work-life balance while maintaining peak performance.
Why Join Us (Advanced degrees)
We seek accomplished educators who hold advanced degrees—Master’s or PhD—in a relevant scientific discipline. Your advanced training will directly enrich the curriculum, allowing you to mentor students in research projects, guide junior lab assistants, and collaborate with faculty on STEM outreach initiatives. Our school values scholarly engagement; we encourage publication, grant writing, and participation in national science competitions. By joining us, you become part of a community that celebrates intellectual growth at every level.
Role Summary (Mentoring and training)
Your primary responsibility is to supervise and mentor junior lab assistants, ensuring that all safety protocols, experimental procedures, and data-recording standards are consistently met. You will design and deliver training modules on equipment calibration, chemical handling, and waste management. In addition, you will assist the science faculty in developing inquiry-based lab sequences that align with the school’s academic calendar and examination schedules. You act as the first point of contact for students seeking guidance on independent research projects, providing constructive feedback and ethical oversight.
Performance Expectations (Senior-level expectations)
You are expected to maintain flawless safety records, with zero incidents of chemical spills, equipment misuse, or compliance violations. Your lab inventory must be reconciled monthly, with discrepancies resolved within 48 hours. Student satisfaction scores in lab-based courses should consistently exceed 4.5 out of 5. You will be evaluated on your ability to mentor junior staff, contribute to curriculum design, and represent the school at external STEM events. Annual performance reviews include peer feedback from science faculty and student representatives.
Career Growth (Leadership path)
This position offers a clear leadership trajectory. Within two years, high performers may advance to Senior Lab Coordinator, overseeing multiple labs and managing a team of four to six assistants. Further growth can lead to the role of Head of Practical Sciences, where you would set departmental policy, manage budgets, and represent the school at national science forums. Each step includes structured mentoring, targeted training budgets, and salary progression aligned with expanded responsibilities.
