NTT Art and Craft Teacher

Facilities and Infrastructure

The school maintains a student-teacher ratio of 15:1 in art and craft classes. Class sizes are capped at 15 students to ensure personalized attention. The art and craft department is equipped with a dedicated studio space of 800 sq. ft., featuring 15 ergonomic workstations, a kiln, pottery wheel, and a wide range of materials including acrylics, watercolors, clay, sketching tools, fabric, and recyclable items. The studio is also equipped with a projector and screen for digital art demonstrations. Storage cabinets are provided for each student to keep their ongoing projects secure. Position Overview

The NTT Art and Craft Teacher is responsible for delivering a structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate art and craft curriculum to children aged 3 to 6 years. The role aims to foster fine motor skills, creativity, sensory exploration, and cognitive development through age-appropriate art activities. Measurable outcomes include:

- 90% of students demonstrating improvement in fine motor skills as assessed through pre- and post-activity rubrics.
- 85% of students showing increased creativity and originality in their artwork, measured through quarterly portfolio reviews.
- 100% of students participating in at least two public art displays per academic year, with 80% receiving positive feedback from parents and peers.
- 95% of parents reporting satisfaction with their child’s progress in art and craft, based on end-of-term surveys.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver a weekly art and craft curriculum aligned with the NTT (Nursery and Lower Kindergarten) framework, integrating themes from language, math, and environmental studies.
- Conduct daily 45-minute sessions with two groups of 15 students each, maintaining a structured yet flexible teaching approach.
- Prepare and maintain lesson plans, activity sheets, and assessment records using digital tools; submit weekly reports to the curriculum coordinator.
- Organize and manage an annual art exhibition showcasing student work, involving parents and community members.
- Source, organize, and replenish art materials within a monthly budget of ₹5,000, ensuring cost-efficiency and sustainability.
- Collaborate with other NTT teachers to integrate art into cross-curricular projects (e.g., storytelling through puppets, number collages).
- Attend monthly professional development workshops and contribute to curriculum enhancement initiatives.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment; enforce safety protocols during use of scissors, glue guns, and other tools.
- Maintain accurate attendance and assessment records using the school’s ERP system.

Performance Expectations

- Student Engagement: Achieve a minimum average participation rate of 95% in all art and craft activities.
- Skill Development: Ensure 80% of students master at least two new art techniques per term (e.g., finger painting, clay modeling, paper weaving).
- Behavior and Safety: Maintain zero incidents of injury or material misuse during class; report any safety concerns immediately.
- Parent Communication: Conduct bi-monthly parent-teacher meetings and respond to parent queries within 24 hours.
- Documentation: Submit lesson plans, student portfolios, and assessment reports by the 5th of each month.
- Professional Growth: Complete 12 hours of professional development annually and implement at least one new teaching strategy per year.
