Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and forward thinking PGT English Teacher to lead our senior secondary students in a Tier 3 city environment. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between traditional academic requirements and modern communication needs. Your role is to prepare students for both board examinations and real world English proficiency by creating an engaging and intellectually stimulating classroom.
TEACHING METHODOLOGY
The school emphasizes a transition from rote learning to a student centric approach. You are expected to implement a blended learning model that combines traditional lecturing with digital resources.
Technology requirements include proficiency in operating smart boards, using Microsoft PowerPoint for interactive lessons, and managing student progress through digital gradebooks. You should be comfortable using educational apps and online platforms like YouTube or Google Classroom to supplement textbook material with visual and auditory aids. The focus should be on the communicative approach to language teaching, ensuring students can speak and write with confidence.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and deliver comprehensive lesson plans for senior secondary English literature and language.
Create a classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and active participation.
Draft and evaluate assignments, periodic tests, and mock board examinations in a timely manner.
Organize literary events, such as debates, declamations, and creative writing workshops.
Identify students who require additional support and provide remedial assistance.
Collaborate with the department to upgrade the curriculum with modern pedagogical tools.
Maintain clear and professional communication with parents regarding student progress.
APPLICATION PROCESS

Demonstrate high digital literacy by conducting at least 60 percent of lessons using ICT tools.

Successful integration of 21st century skills like critical thinking and digital research into the English syllabus.
Consistent and constructive feedback from students and parents regarding teaching effectiveness.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Post Graduate degree in English Literature or a related field is mandatory. A B.Ed degree is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience at the senior secondary level.
TET Requirement: Not required for this position.
Language: Excellent command over spoken and written English is essential.
Digital Skills: Basic knowledge of computer operations, internet research, and presentation software.
