About Goodley Public School | Delhi

When a child steps through the gate of Goodley Public School for the first time, the world feels a little larger. The modest red bricks of Block BD in West Shalimar Bagh sit beneath a canopy of mature trees that have watched generations of youngsters grow. A nervous smile meets the warm greeting of a senior student who points out the playground, the library tucked behind the science lab, and the bright classrooms where the day will begin. The first morning is a blend of curiosity and the faint echo of a school bell that has been marking time in Saraswati Vihar since 1979.

In the early years, the school’s rhythm settles into a comfortable pattern. English‑medium lessons are delivered by teachers who have spent decades honing their craft, many of whom still remember their own school days in the same neighbourhood. They move between the blackboard and the students with a patience that lets a child ask “why” as often as the curriculum demands “what”. Mathematics is not just numbers on a page; the teacher draws connections to everyday market stalls on the nearby road, while science experiments occasionally spill over into the open courtyard, where a simple volcano eruption sparks more than just curiosity. The classrooms are bright, the walls adorned with student work, and the air carries the hum of discussion that stretches beyond the timetable.

As the years pass, the same corridors witness a quiet transformation. By the time a student reaches the senior secondary wing, the same teachers who once taught their first alphabets are now guiding them through physics, economics and literature. The school’s affiliation with CBSE provides a structure that balances board expectations with the individual pace of each learner. Mock exams, group projects, and occasional trips to the nearby Delhi University campus give a taste of the wider academic world, while the school’s emphasis on merit means that effort is recognized in ways that matter to
