About This Role
The school needs a Post Graduate Trained Physical Education Teacher to lead classes from VI to XII and coach the basketball and athletics teams. You will work alongside the sports coordinator to organise inter-house tournaments and represent Air Force School Aste Bengaluru in CBSE cluster events. Four years of school-level PE teaching experience and a valid B.Ed are essential.
Day-to-Day Duties
Plan weekly lesson cycles covering yoga, track and field, team games and fitness drills.
Conduct morning assembly drills and ensure students reach the playground by 7:15 a.m.
Organise inter-house Kho-Kho and throw-ball matches during the monsoon season.
Maintain the sports equipment store; log inflatable balls, shuttlecocks and mats every Friday.
Submit attendance sheets and fitness assessment charts to the academic coordinator before 4 p.m.
Attend PTMs and brief parents on their child’s stamina and posture improvements.
Train the under-17 basketball squad for the CBSE South Zone tournament.
Coordinate with the canteen auntie to provide banana and glucose biscuits after long practice sessions.
Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Physical Education from a recognised university.
B.Ed or D.El.Ed with Physical Education specialisation.
Minimum four years of full-time Physical Education Teacher Job in Bengaluru Urban in a CBSE-affiliated school.
Preference for candidates with CTET Paper-II (Science & Mathematics) background.
Familiarity with NEP 2020 guidelines on sports integration appreciated.
Perks and Pay
The position is full-time and offers Rs.25,000 – Rs.45,000 per month based on experience and qualifications. Air Force School Aste Bengaluru provides subsidised canteen meals, free transport for official sports trips and an annual sports kit allowance. Staff quarters are available for outstation teachers on a first-come basis.
