Create differentiated lesson plans that cater to varied learning paces in a classroom of 30-35 students, using rhythm exercises, vocal warm-ups, and simple instrumental pieces with harmonium and tabla. Develop assessment rubrics that measure pitch accuracy, rhythm consistency, and stage presence rather than written tests, sharing feedback with parents during PTMs in Odia and Hindi.
Mentor two junior music teachers in classroom management, lesson sequencing, and repertoire selection, conducting bi-weekly demonstration classes at St. Xavier High School. Organize an annual music exhibition where every child performs at least one prepared piece, documenting progress through audio recordings and still photographs for the school portfolio.
Curate a repertoire that balances classical ragas, patriotic songs, and seasonal compositions, introducing students to local artists and visiting performers when possible. Collaborate with the art teacher to link visual patterns in Odisha’s tribal art with rhythmic patterns in music, creating cross-curricular worksheets for Grades 3 and 4.
Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Music with minimum 5 years of classroom teaching experience in primary or middle school.
