Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and responsible individual to serve as a Hostel Warden in our inclusive school community. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment for students, promoting diversity and inclusivity, and fostering a sense of belonging among students.
Performance Expectations
- Ensure the overall well-being and safety of students residing in the hostel
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote a positive and inclusive hostel environment
- Foster a sense of community and teamwork among students, staff, and other residents
Key Responsibilities (Diverse learner needs)
- Provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs, including students with disabilities, English language learners, and students from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Develop and implement strategies to promote social inclusion, empathy, and respect among students
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to provide comprehensive support to students
Professional Development (Inclusive practices)
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in inclusive practices
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in supporting students with diverse needs
- Engage in reflective practice to continually improve the hostel environment and services
Campus Facilities
- Ensure that the hostel facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained
- Supervise the use of hostel facilities and equipment, including kitchen, laundry, and recreational areas
- Collaborate with facilities staff to address any maintenance or repair issues

Eligibility Criteria
- Postgraduate degree in Education, Social Work, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with students in a hostel or residential setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
