About The Indian School | New Delhi

The Indian School first opened its doors on Josip Broz Tito Marg in Sadiq Nagar back in 1996, and over the years it has become a familiar sight for families living in Defence Colony and the surrounding neighborhoods. Many of our teachers still recall the early days when a handful of classrooms were bustling with the sound of children learning to read and write, while parents from the same block would gather after school to discuss their hopes for the future. That sense of belonging has only deepened as the school grew, and today the campus is a place where generations of neighbours have shared milestones—from first school plays to final board examinations.

Our guiding principle, “Knowledge is Power,” is more than a motto; it shapes how we think about education. We aim to nurture curiosity, encourage responsible use of resources, and help each child see themselves as part of a larger community. The school works closely with local groups to promote environmental awareness, and we regularly invite community members to take part in cultural programmes and science fairs. The curriculum follows the CBSE framework, but we supplement it with projects that ask students to look beyond textbooks, consider different perspectives, and develop a sense of global citizenship.

A typical day for a student at The Indian School blends rigorous classroom work with hands‑on experiences. The campus is fully accessible, so every child can move about comfortably, and the second‑shift programme makes efficient use of our facilities, fostering a lively atmosphere throughout the day.
