About Pkr Jain Girls Sr Sec School | Ambala

When I first imagined a place where girls from Ambala could study without compromise, the idea was simple: a school that respected tradition yet embraced the demands of the modern world. In 1950, with the help of a few dedicated families, we opened the doors of P.K.R. Jain Girls Sr. Sec. School near Arya Chowk. Over the past seventy‑six years the campus has grown from a single building to thirty‑three classrooms, a library that holds more than ten thousand volumes, and a computer lab that hums with activity each morning. Yet the core belief that guided us then remains unchanged—education must empower a girl to think for herself, to speak confidently, and to serve her community.

Our school serves the girls of Ambala City and its surrounding neighborhoods, many of whom come from families that value education as a pathway to independence. We follow the CBSE curriculum, which allows us to blend a rigorous academic program with the flexibility needed for creative inquiry. Mathematics, science and languages are taught with an eye on real‑world application, while subjects such as environmental studies and social science encourage students to understand the world around them. The classroom is not a place of rote memorisation; it is a space where questions are welcomed, experiments are conducted, and ideas are debated.

Beyond the textbooks, we have built a vibrant co‑curricular programme that reflects the spirit of “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.” Sports such as Kudo, athletics, and team games give our students the chance to develop discipline and teamwork. Cultural clubs, debate societies and community service groups keep them connected to their heritage while nurturing leadership skills. Digital tools are woven into daily lessons, so every child learns to use technology responsibly and effectively.

Each morning I walk through the corridors and hear the chatter of girls preparing for exams, rehearsing a drama, or discussing a recent science project. It is a reminder that the vision that sparked this school is alive in every student who walks these halls. We are not just preparing them for the next board examination; we are helping them become confident, capable individuals who can contribute meaningfully to Ambala, to Haryana, and to the nation at large.
